HOW IT ALL STARTED

GoSili was founded in 2006 based on the principal that it was time to create a cultural shift away from toxic and excessive plastics. Founders, Giuliana Schawb and Stacey Feeley believed there was a better alternative to plastics, so they began creating stylish, incredibly durable, 100% nontoxic silicone products with the philosophy that it was time to make the “basics” better. They first founded the award-winning all silicone children’s brand, Silikids of which GoSili is the parent company. Today, the company has expanded from kids products to products for the whole family and more. GoSili continues to bring innovative silicone products to market and has since been dedicated to building a social movement away from unsustainable plastic wares by providing the alternative to them.

It is time to stop the endless cycle of buying things that don’t last and single use products that spend half a millennia in a landfill. GoSili believes that by bridging the gap between great design and affordability we can create a cultural shift to better sustainable habits improving the way we live.

WHAT’S YOUR CARBON FOOTPRINT?

As part of GoSili overall company view, we believe that excess packaging is wasteful and not necessary, therefore GoSili remains true to as little unnecessary packaging and shipping material as possible. While packaging certainly has its place and is important, we believe it can be done in a responsible way. GoSili strives to be a green-friendly company helping to pave a cleaner path and better environment for our children.

SILICONE 101

What is silicone?

Silicone is straight up amazing! It is far superior to plastic, more durable, and more ocean-friendly than plastic. It lasts longer and stands up better against heat and cold than plastics. Because it’s completely inert and safe to heat to super high temperatures, it’s safe to use for both cold and hot drinks. It’s also safer for your family, too, with no toxic chemicals like BPA to worry about. All GoSili items are 100% silicone. It is stain-resistant, hypoallergenic, and has no open pores to harbor harmful bacteria. The company is dedicated to building a social movement away from toxic and unsustainable plastic wares by providing the alternative to them. With the excessive amount of plastics linked to negative health and environmental issues, GoSili is creating a cultural shift away from the overuse of these “throw away” plastics.

Is silicone plastic?

NO way dude. Silicone is a type of rubber that is free of toxic chemicals and is built to last, withstand extreme temperatures, endlessly reusable, soft and pliable and is inert.

Are my GoSili products dishwasher safe?

Yes! Every GoSili product is dishwasher safe on both the top and bottom rack.

Are my GoSili products microwave safe?

Yes! Every GoSili product is microwave safe.

Do I need a brush to clean my reusable straw?

No need for a brush! Simply place your straw in the dishwasher. No dishwasher? No problem! To wash the straw by hand, place a drop of soap in the opening of the straw. Roll the straw between two fingers and rinse until the water runs clear.

How long will liquids stay hot or cold in the cups?

Usually up to 2 hours, but since the cups are microwave safe, you can pop it in the microwave for a quick reheat!

How are the cups microwave safe with the stainless-steel ring embedded around the top of cup?

GoSili cups are completely safe to use in the microwave. Because the metal is circular the electrons within the metal continue to move within a circular motion, rather than building up on a sharp edge such as a fork which would cause sparks and damage your microwave.

Where’s the opening on the spout of my universal sippy top?

By the nature of silicone many scores and slits in the material seem as though they are not there. However, if you pull on the sides of the sippy spout, you will notice that the opening will appear. Upon first use, give the sides a good pull and the spout will work great!

Can silicone products absorb smells?

Liquids with strong odors – like coffee – may cause a lingering effect. But not to worry! If this happens, here are some ways to remedy the situation: rinse with hot water after each use rub with white vinegar or lemon to stabilize the odor soak in baking soda and hot water run through dishwasher

RECYCLE YOUR SILICONE

One of the many reasons we love silicone is because it is pretty much indestructible. However, if the time comes to say, refresh your silicone stash, silicone can be recycled. Not all recycling centers are setup to recycle silicone, so if your local recycling center does not, we will take care of it for you! GoSili recycles all its silicone materials and unused products. In order to make the process easier for you, GoSili will recycle your silicone products when you are done using them.
