Our Story
On February 15th, 2012, after being in the publishing world for twenty years in both books and magazines while simultaneously raising their nine precocious children, Christopher and Michele Robbins launched a new publishing company and called it Familius, a play on the Latin Family. They created Familius because they wanted to align their love of books, publishing, and, most importantly, family to help create a better world.
They believe that the family is the fundamental unit of society and that society's strengths and weaknesses, its successes and failures, are predicated on happy and productive families.
Since that day in 2012, Familius has continued to explore best practices to help families be happy. That's our mission. And those authors and partners and employees who engage with us have that same interest--to see the world become a little bit better by helping families be happy.
Family comes first
Familius is all about strengthening families. Collectively, our authors and staff have experienced a wide slice of the family-life spectrum. Some of us come from broken homes. Some of us are married and in the throes of managing a bursting household. Some of us are still preparing to start families of our own. None of us are perfect, but all of us are committed to the family unit. Together, we publish books, articles, and videos that help families be happy. We love what we do!
Guided by values
Familius is a values-driven company. We believe that the family is the fundamental unit of society, and that happy family life is centered on strong values like compassion, education, forgiveness, hard work, love, respect, self-improvement, service, and quality time together. These values quietly guide the books we choose to publish, the way we conduct our business, and the relationships we develop with our customers and authors. We are a for-profit company, but sticking to our values will always come before making a buck.
Our Mission
We believe that the family is the fundamental unit of society and that happy families are the foundation of a happy life. The greatest work anyone will ever do will be within the walls of his or her own home. And we don't mean vacuuming! We recognize that every family looks different and passionately believe in helping all families find greater joy, whatever their situation.
